Description

Normally I find my direction for an image very early on, so that I can tuck away the WIP for months and not lose the feel for it. But this, I couldn’t figure out what I wanted from it. I repainted everything over and over. Usually, I end up scrapping paintings that give me so much trouble because if I ever do finish them, they end up terrible. In this case though—I’m glad I didn’t scrap it because it ended up teaching me a lot of new things.

Anyway, Nhaiuusah is something of a nature spirit. No one is quite sure what he is or where he came from, though many suspect him to be a child of the Saedhj.

The anatomy was hell to get right; I’ve never compiled so many different sources for one pose before. D:

a very good painting, but the back muscles seem awfully well defined for such a relaxed pose. Is he in the middle of getting up? Really beautiful lighting

Theres almost a glow about the skin, it's a great painting, love the sky.

It was me with those 1's!

Great pose and good work on the foreshortening,
especially the feet are really nicely painted.

I think the muscle definition is cool and from
I perceive it anatomically correct

I do think the integration with the background is slightly off due
to colour differences.

Looks great to me. The only (minor) flaw may be the bright halo over his hair. Very neat otherwise.

Great work! Only one minor critique: The stars looks a little strange for me, maybe they are too big. Other than this, it's an amazing piece!
